PHASE II (2008-10)

Implementation

• May 2008—kickoff event brought together selected pilot teams and other K-20 educators from across the state to review and provide input on Phase 2 plans and strategies*. Phase 2 Kickoff
• June 2008—intensive 5-day institute for pilot teams; team building, orientation to college readiness teaching strategies, goals, objectives, expected outcomes; begin to generate assignments and classroom materials that utilize college readiness definitions;
• August 2008—follow-up 2-day institute sharing and reviewing college readiness classroom materials; further development of assignments and materials utilizing college readiness teaching strategies in classrooms.
• September 2008 – June 2009—high school teachers use college readiness teaching strategies in middle and high school classrooms, with support and consultation provided by college faculty (pilot team members and team leaders);
• July 2009—report evaluation, recommendations for Phase 3. Launch of second year of Phase II (2009 - 2010) of pilot project.
